Maya Avci

Dr. Maya Avci is an attorney in the Chicago office of Ladas & Parry LLP.

Maya’s practice focuses primarily on intellectual property rights, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets and copyrights.
With an extensive International Law background, she has experience working with diverse clients in different countries. She is a member of European, Turkish and American International Organizations. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a student attorney with the Harvard Law School’s Immigration and Refugee Clinic.

She is licensed to practice in Turkey and in Illinois.  She is a member of Illinois Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Izmir Bar Association, Union of Turkish Bars and International Criminal Court Bar Association.

Maya received her L.L.B degree from Turkey, and her LL.M. from the University of California Davis, and later completed her J.S.D. (Doctor of the Science of Law) program at Chicago Kent College of Law.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and is active in advocating for human rights, anti-trafficking regulations, women rights and refugee rights.

Maya speaks Turkish and English.
