Maggie Wang is a qualified Chinese lawyer and Chief Representative of Ladas & Parry LLP in China. Maggie started her legal career in 2005 at Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., a leading global telecom equipment provider and a well-respected Chinese company exploring its way into mobile phone and enterprise network business. She reviewed translations of patent applications for filing abroad and managed a prosecution team of 25 for the first 5 years. After that she worked as an in-house attorney dealing with trademark, copyright and domain name issues. She also reviewed R&D cooperation agreements and licensing agreements and got involved in IP transaction and litigation projects. Maggie has profound understanding of almost every aspect of IP issues in China. She played an extremely important role in counseling the company’s mobile phone business. As Maggie was also the interface of the company’s software compliance, she had rich experience in dealing with both commercial software companies and open source software issues. Maggie graduated as an English major from Taiyuan University of Technology and studied Philosophy at Peking University. She studied law by herself and got her legal qualification while working at Huawei. She is a member of INTA East Asia & Pacific Subcommittee and a panel speaker at INTA HK. By joining Ladas & Parry LLP, Maggie looks forward to serving global clients and helping Ladas to develop business in China. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and cinema.
