Doug Gallagher is a partner in the Chicago office of Ladas & Parry.
Doug has a unique background that enables him to help a wide variety of clients with their intellectual property needs. During his almost 20-year legal career Doug has helped clients navigate virtually all aspects of intellectual property law. In patents he has helped clients in a wide variety of industries including agriculture, aviation, automotive, electronics, lighting, manufacturing, medical, optics, telecommunications, sporting equipment, and unmanned vehicles. He has counseled both foreign and domestic clients in obtaining and protecting their intellectual property while navigating the intellectual property rights of others, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets and copyrights.
Before joining Ladas & Parry, Doug was a partner in the Indianapolis office of a 500-lawyer law firm. Prior to his legal career, Doug served as a test pilot and carrier-based fighter pilot in the U.S. Navy. In 2000, Doug was fortunate to be selected as a finalist in the NASA astronaut program.
Doug has been involved in a number of professional organizations including being Chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association and being a member of the Indiana Leadership Forum, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to educating Indiana’s most talented business and community leaders about government, politics and policy to prepare them for greater civic involvement and leadership roles in their communities.
As a former aviator, Doug enjoys attending the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh annual air show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, United States and he also serves on the USO Advisory Board for Illinois.
