The Madrid Protocol has Entered into Force in Respect to the Country of Malawi
On December 25th, the Madrid Protocol entered into force for the African nation of Malawi, the 102nd member of the Madrid System. Malawians can now protect their trademarks within the system by filing a single application with a single set of fees. Foreign trademark owners can also pursue trademark protection for goods and services that they sell in Malawi through the centralized application process managed by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
