New generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) are finally here and Ladas & Parry’s registrar LadasDomains is pleased to launch a new Customer Portal at www.ladasdomains.com. Along with an improved domain management system, LadasDomains portal now includes a free New gTLD Watchlist tool to track new domain launches. LadasDomains is offering Sunrise registrations to all qualified trademark holders.
The Trademark Clearinghouse
If you are interested in qualifying for Sunrise registrations, you will need to participate in the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH). As an accredited TMCH agent, LadasDomains can assist. LadasDomains’ service does not commit you to participating in any particular Sunrise launch in a given domain extension, but it does give brand owners the flexibility to claim priority and to receive notifications of infringing domains by unauthorized third-parties.
The TMCH also provides brand owners notifications, known as Trademark Claims, when third-parties register domain names matching their TMCH marks.
New gTLD Watch
Ladas & Parry’s new Watch service supplements our current Domain Watch service. This service, which complements our existing gTLD and ccTLD Watch Services, will fill the gap left by the Trademark Clearinghouse, as it scans for confusingly similar domain names and does not require a registered trademark to enroll.
Domains Protected Marks List
One new rights protection mechanism is the Domains Protected Marks List (DPML). This has been developed by one new registry operator, Donuts (www.donuts.co), which is the largest new gTLD applicant and plans to operate over 200 new domains. Donuts is offering the DPML as a way to block your mark throughout all gTLDs under their management. If you are only looking to register domains defensively, this service is something to consider and LadasDomains can assist in registering your marks in the DPML.
