Malcolm J. Macdonald, Ph.D.

Dr. Malcolm MacDonald is Of Counsel in the New York office of Ladas & Parry,

Formerly, Malcolm was a partner in the firm of Dennison, Schultz & MacDonald at the time that firm was merged into Ladas & Parry. He received his B.Sc. in science from the University of Aston in Birmingham, England, where he also received his Ph.D. in Microbial Physiology. He received his J.D. degree from the University of Maryland. Malcolm also carried out postdoctoral research at the University of Manchester (UMIST), England. Before attending law school, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy, where he taught courses in immunology and microbiology.

Malcolm is admitted to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia, and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of the bar of the Court of Appeals of the Federal Circuit.

Malcolm has many years of experience in prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications. His practice has been in the areas of filing and prosecuting chemical, pharmaceutical, and mechanical patent applications, and also advises clients on issues relating to patent infringement and patent validity.
