Yekaterina (Kate) Tsyvkin is an experienced litigator and a valued advisor on trademark and copyright issues. She helps her diverse clientele leverage their intellectual property assets and advises them on how to best protect and exploit their rights. The depth and breadth of her IP litigation experience gives her clients an edge in securing, monitoring and enforcing these rights.
Prior to joining Ladas & Parry LLP, Kate practiced in intellectual property boutiques. She routinely secured favorable outcomes, including judgments, for her many clients in contested disputes in Federal Court. Kate has experience in complex litigation in the areas of copyright, trademark, and privacy law. Her counsel has been instrumental in negotiating favorable settlements, as well as avoiding unnecessary litigation. Kate understands the value proposition of intellectual property and helps clients exploit it.
Kate received her J.D. with Concentrations in Intellectual Property and Constitutional Law from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was the Senior Editor of a faculty journal, Cardozo Studies in Law and Literature. She was the Floersheimer Law & Humanities Institute Fellow and a Public Service Scholar. As an Amnesty International Grantee, she handled death penalty appeals at the Louisiana Capital Assistance Center in New Orleans. Kate received her B.A. in Philosophy from Yale College where she was a Milken Scholar. While at Yale, Kate interned at the New Haven’s Office of the Public Defender. Kate is fluent in Russian, and less so in German.
When not embroiled in litigation, Kate enjoys eating more than cooking, planning elaborate city outings for her family that rarely materialize and just spending time.
