LADAS & PARRY ASSISTED THE LAW FIRM OF GARCIA & BODAN IN HELPING THE GOVERNMENT OF EL SALVADOR OBTAIN THEIR FIRST FOREIGN PATENT

Ladas & Parry is pleased to have worked with the law firm of García & Bodán to help El Salvador’s National Center for Scientific Research (CICES) obtain a patent in the United States. Janet Cord prosecuted the U.S. patent application for a method of making a chemical compound to treat American Trypanosomiasis, or more commonly known in the U.S. as Chagas disease to grant.

Chagas disease is mainly found in rural areas of Central and South America causing symptoms such as swollen lymph nodes, fever, headaches and has also been known to cause heart failure in some cases.
