2018 WORLD INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY DAY WAS CELEBRATED ON APRIL 26TH

Women in ScienceOn April 26th, 2018 Ladas and the world celebrated World Intellectual Property Day and honor those women around the world that have contributed to advancing intellectual property. On April 26th, Ladas & Parry joined the international intellectual property community in celebrating World Intellectual Property Day, a day which recognizes and salutes all those individuals across cultures and borders whose innovations and creations help improve our world and communities.

I am deeply proud of the creative accomplishments and professional achievements of women innovators, who have overcome challenges through perseverance and hard work, while remaining true to their individual cultures and backgrounds. It has been a great pleasure to have the opportunity to represent such women, and a great source of inspiration for me both personally and professionally.

Since 2000, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has organized events around the globe on World IP Day to celebrate the cross-cultural collaboration efforts of innovators by promoting a general understanding of intellectual property law through discourse and interactive events.

This year, World IP Day’s theme was, Powering Change: Women in Innovation and Technology, recognizes both the women who created and developed life-changing inventions that transform lives and those women who are re-imagining culture and helping open up new worlds of understanding and knowledge.

We would like to commemorate World Intellectual Property Day by honoring some female pioneers, both past and present, in the field of intellectual property law. We salute those who helped shaped the world we enjoy today.
