Donald Dennison is a partner in the Washington, D.C. area office of Ladas & Parry.
Prior to coming to Ladas & Parry, he was a partner for many years at the law firm of Dennison, Schultz & MacDonald in Alexandria, Virginia. He received his B.S.M.E. from the Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and received his J.D. from George Washington University in Washington, DC.
Don’s practice is divided between trademark and patent prosecution and he has specialized in litigation before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. He also is retained to testify as an expert in patent matters related to patent prosecution and has testified as an expert witness in eighteen patent infringement, trade secret and trademark suits in the Federal and State courts, including New Jersey, New York, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Florida, Ohio and Illinois.
Don served as 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army Corps of Engineers in Germany from 1955-1957. He was also a patent examiner at the USPTO from 1957 -1960 where he examined patent applications in the mechanical fields of winding and reeling apparatus, hoisting and hauling equipment, railway mail delivery and horology.
When not practicing law, Donald is a licensed pilot and ham radio operator who enjoys music, dog training (certified K-9 search and rescue dog handler), and sports cars. He is a Certified National Clinician and National Referee Assessor for the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association and has refereed soccer for 36 years at all levels, from amateur to professional, and he has been inducted in the National Soccer Hall of Fame.
