Daniel Zendel is Of Counsel in the New York office of Ladas and Parry.
He received a B.A. Degree from Case Western Reserve University and his J.D. Degree from Fordham University, where he was a member of the Editorial Board of the Fordham Law Review. Dan is admitted to practice before the New York State Bar and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Dan’s primary area of practice is in the field of international trademark law and protection, having practiced at two multinational corporations and at Ladas & Parry since 1972. He has experience in counseling clients on U.S. trademark and copyright law, and in prosecuting U.S. trademark applications, as well as counseling clients in the field of intellectual property licensing, with emphasis on trademark licensing, both domestic and international.
Dan has appeared on CNN International to provide analysis for an important U.S. copyright, trademark and contract case. He has been published in the Fordham Law Review and has been serving as a volunteer mentor for students at Fordham University as well serving as an interviewer and alumni ambassador for potential Case Western Reserve University students. He has also been published in The Journal of Maritime Law and Commerce, The Trademark Reporter, the New York Law Journal, The National Law Journal, Trademark World, Trademarks America, and IP World. In addition, Trademark Insider has ranked Dan among the top 15 U.S. trademark attorneys. He has also been named a New York SuperLawyer in New York SuperLawyers Magazine, Manhattan Edition.
He has lectured at Fordham Law School and served on a number of committees of the International Trademark Association, where he was chairman of a sub-committee on foreign trademark law. Mr. Zendel has also served on committees of the American Bar Association and has contributed comments to the trademark practice group.
In his free time, Dan enjoys a variety of outdoor sports that include kayaking, tennis, swimming, and biking as well as working in his fruit and vegetable garden. He is the proud grandfather of four.
