LADAS NOTES THE PASSING OF RETIRED PARTNER PAUL WEST

It is with sadness that we note the death of our retired partner Paul West. Paul died after a long illness and is remembered fondly by those who worked with him.

Paul graduated from MIT with a degree in chemical engineering and after serving in the army in Korea during the Korean War, joined the firm (then known as Langner Parry Card and Langner) in 1954 becoming a partner in 1965. He retired in 1998. A long term tennis, skiing, music and art enthusiast, Paul’s professional work included overseeing large parts of the international patent portfolios for Phillips Petroleum Company and Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company. In addition to his interest in international patent matters Paul was also one of the key members of the group that brought about the transformation of the firm from being focused on international matters to the full service IP firm that it is today.

His insights will be sorely missed
